Dear VSG President and VSG Vice President,

As alumni of Vanderbilt University represented by Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF), we strongly condemn the Vanderbilt Student Government (VSG) for your statement that espouses rank disregard for and silences the voices of the Jewish community on campus.

On May 23rd, your administration released a statement lambasting Israel directly by claiming that they are guilty of targeting Muslim Palestinians, settler-colonialism, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes. VSG goes as far as committing to centering the perspectives of and remaining lock-step with Palestinian voices on campus.

As alumni, we are absolutely a part of the university - once you become a graduate of Vanderbilt, you are forever a Commodore. In light of this statement, ACF questions your administration’s commitment to representing all students, including Jewish and Zionist students. Alumni cannot stand by as VSG attempts to isolate Jewish and Zionists students at our alma mater.

Therefore, we call on VSG to issue an apology to the Jewish community on campus and retroactively withdraw your statement.

ACF asks that you affirm your commitment to all Commodores. As the unified alumni voice in countering antisemitism, now is the time for CSG to show support for the Jewish community through action.
