ACF Applauds Yale for Rejecting Divestment Proposal

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) applauds Yale University’s Advisory Committee on Investor Responsibility (ACIR) for rejecting a student-led proposal calling for divestment from several companies, including Palantir, liquefied natural gas companies, and weapons manufacturers.

According to ACIR, the proposal did not meet Yale’s established divestment criteria as outlined in the committee’s publicly available guidelines. The proposal’s organizers advanced claims that Palantir contributes to human rights violations against Palestinians and undocumented individuals in the United States, allegations the committee did not find sufficient to warrant divestment.

ACIR Chair Kenneth Gillingham confirmed that the committee would not recommend any changes to Yale’s list of companies eligible for investment at this time. Committee members declined to provide additional details regarding their deliberations, citing confidentiality.

ACF sees Yale’s decision as a crucial rejection of divestment campaigns tied to the BDS movement, which promote division instead of dialogue and contribute to a hostile environment for Jewish and pro-Israel students.
