ACF Commends DePaul University for Suspending SJP

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) commends DePaul University for suspending its chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) for 18 months, encompassing the remainder of the 2025–2026 academic year and the entirety of the 2026–2027 academic year. During this period, SJP will be prohibited from accessing university funds or reserving university spaces.

This action follows years of unrest and repeated violations of university policies, including violent incidents on campus. Among the most serious were the assaults of students Michael Kaminsky and Max Long, which raised significant concerns about student safety and the university’s ability to enforce its own standards.

ACF views this decision as a meaningful step toward accountability and restoring a respectful campus environment. Holding student organizations to established policies and procedures is essential to ensuring that all students, including Jewish and pro-Israel students, can learn and participate in campus life without fear or intimidation.

ACF will continue to monitor developments at DePaul and remains committed to advocating for the fair enforcement of campus policies and safer, more inclusive campuses.
