ACF Commends Florida State University Expelling Student Following Antisemitic Harassment Incident; Calls for Sustained Accountability

Florida State University has expelled a student involved in a July 2025 antisemitic harassment incident during which she verbally harassed and physically confronted a Jewish student wearing an IDF t-shirt. Under a deferred prosecution agreement, the student has been permanently banned from campus and must submit a formal written apology. Campus access is now restricted without prior approval from law enforcement.

In response to the initial incident, the university launched an immediate investigation, and FSU leadership reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of Jewish students under Florida law. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi condemned the behavior, stating it “underscores the urgency of combating antisemitism.”

ACF applauds FSU for holding this student accountable and urges all institutions to enforce policies that ensure Jewish and pro-Israel students feel safe and valued.
