ACF Commends Haverford College for Permanently Banning Event Disrupter

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) commends Haverford College for permanently banning an individual who disrupted a campus event featuring Israeli journalist Haviv Rettig Gur on February 1, 2026.

Video from the event shows an individual wearing a keffiyeh using a bullhorn to interrupt and shout over the speaker, preventing the program from proceeding as planned. Campus Safety removed the individual from the room shortly after the disruption began.

Following an investigation, the college determined that the individual was not affiliated with Haverford and barred them indefinitely from campus for violating college policy. In a message addressing the incident, President Wendy Raymond stated that “shouting down a speaker whom one does not agree with is never acceptable and stands outside of our shared community values.”

ACF views this action as an important step in upholding campus policies and protecting the integrity of academic discourse. Consistent enforcement of campus rules is essential to ensuring that all members of the community can engage in dialogue and campus life without intimidation or disruption.
