ACF Condemns Antisemitic Graffiti and Disruption Outside Minnesota Chabad House

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) condemns a disturbing incident of antisemitic graffiti and targeted disruption outside the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Chabad House.

Last Friday, antisemitic messages were discovered chalked on sidewalks outside the Chabad House following a protest held during Shabbat services and a dinner featuring a speaker who served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The graffiti included phrases such as “Death to the IDF,” “Child Killers,” “Free Gaza,” and “IDF murderers supported here.”

The protest was led by members of Students for a Democratic Society, with participants using pots, pans, whistles, and other noise-making instruments to disrupt the event. The incident reflects a broader pattern, as the Chabad House has been targeted multiple times in recent months.

In response, Chabad’s student board removed the graffiti and replaced it with images of flowers, hearts, and peace signs, demonstrating resilience in the face of hostility.

ACF calls on university leadership to investigate this incident thoroughly and hold any individuals or groups responsible accountable in accordance with campus policies. Universities must take proactive steps to ensure that religious and cultural spaces are protected and that students can gather safely without fear of harassment.
