Alums for Campus Fairness’ NYU Chapter (ACF-NYU) is appalled that NYU Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) was awarded the NYU President’s Service Award. SJP has a history of making Jewish and Pro-Israel students feel unsafe and should not have this recognition by the University.

After evaluating the standards of selection set forth for the NYU President’s Service Award, it remains clear that SJP has neither made an “extraordinary and positive impact on the University community” nor contributes to the “promotion of learning, leadership, and quality of student life.”

ACF-NYU is alarmed that, in awarding SJP for dividing our campus community and working against the interests of Jewish and Pro-Israel students, our alma mater has endorsed the values of SJP on campus.

We will continue to support Jewish and Pro-Israel students on campus and be actively engaged in taking action against this problematic organization. We will not stand back as anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias are legitimized.

UPDATE (4/18/2019): Sign our ACF-NYU Chapter's petition calling on President Hamilton to reaffirm his commitment to fighting anti-Semitism and making NYU safer for the Jewish and Pro-Israel community.
