ACF Monitoring Vanderbilt Investigation into Lecturer’s Anti-Israel Content

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) commends Vanderbilt University for promptly investigating a mathematics lecturer following allegations that anti-Israel content was presented during course instruction. The material reportedly included a calculus slide depicting Palestine as a shrinking state due to Israeli “occupation.” The university confirmed that the slide was removed and that an investigation is underway.

ACF views Vanderbilt’s swift response as an important step in ensuring that classrooms remain spaces for academic integrity and respectful discourse. Students should not be subjected to political bias or inflammatory content that targets a particular group or identity.

ACF will continue to monitor the situation closely and calls for ongoing transparency and accountability as the investigation proceeds. Universities have a responsibility to foster safe and welcoming environments for all students, regardless of their identity or beliefs.
