ACF Welcomes Jennifer L. Mnookin as Columbia University President

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) welcomes the appointment of Jennifer L. Mnookin as the next president of Columbia University. The university’s Board of Trustees announced that Mnookin will assume the role effective July 1, 2026. Her appointment marks Columbia’s fourth presidential transition in just over two years.

Mnookin currently serves as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a position she has held since 2022. A nationally recognized scholar in the field of legal evidence, she previously served as dean of the UCLA School of Law, where she spent 17 years as a faculty member. Her academic leadership spans research, teaching, and administration at some of the country’s leading institutions.

ACF recognizes the significant challenges facing Columbia’s campus climate, particularly for Jewish and pro-Israel students, and views this leadership transition as an important opportunity for meaningful progress. ACF and ACF-Columbia look forward to building a strong, collaborative relationship with President-Designate Mnookin.
