Alums for Campus Fairness Commends Temple University President John Fry for Swift Action Against Antisemitic Incident

Alums for Campus Fairness applauds Temple University President John Fry for his prompt and decisive response to a deeply troubling antisemitic incident that occurred at an off-campus establishment.

On Saturday evening, an antisemitic message was displayed at Barstool Sansom Street, a bar in Philadelphia. The incident captured on video involved students from Temple University displaying a sign with hateful language targeting the Jewish community.

Upon learning of the incident, President Fry issued a condemnation, stating: "In the strongest terms possible, let me be clear: antisemitism is abhorrent. It has no place at Temple, and acts of hatred and discrimination against any person or persons are not tolerated at this university."

Demonstrating a commitment to upholding the university's values, the Division of Student Affairs swiftly identified a student involved in the incident and placed them on interim suspension. President Fry emphasized that any additional students found to be involved will face strict disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code.

ACF commends President Fry's leadership in addressing this incident with the seriousness it warrants. His actions reflect a zero-tolerance policy for antisemitism and reinforce the university's dedication to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all students.
