Alums for Campus Fairness commends CUNY Chancellor, Felíx V. Matos Rodríguez for his statement addressing the recent Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) resolution adopted by the CUNY Law Student Government Association.

In the statement, Chancellor Matos Rodríguez reiterated, “CUNY cannot participate in or support BDS activities and is required to divest public funds from any companies that do,” as stipulated by New York State Executive Order 157. We thank Chancellor Matos Rodríguez for his leadership in rejecting claims of censorship of Palestinians and complicity in war crimes against Palestinians.

We see this as a positive first step to supporting the CUNY Jewish community in light of rising antisemitism. We welcome helping Chancellor Matos Rodríguez hold true to his commitment to “promote tolerance and civic engagement, and to commit ourselves to coming together, hard as it may often seem, to forge mutual understanding as members of this widely diverse University community.” ACF stands with the CUNY Jewish community, as was seen by our rapid response petition.
