Alums for Campus Fairness is disappointed with The George Washington University (GWU) President Mark S. Wrighton’s update regarding the summarized findings of an internal investigation into StandWithUs’ January 2023 Title VI complaint filed with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

Instead of releasing the full report, under the guise of protecting the privacy of students and faculty, GWU’s synopsis concludes that there was no evidence corroborating the discrimination outlined in the complaint and that the allegations were taken out of context and misrepresented.

By denying the antisemitism GWU Jewish and Israeli students experienced and reported — following the exact protocol President Wrighton urges victims of discrimination to follow — the university has completely abandoned them and done so with the stamp of approval of a supposedly independent investigation.

We hope that GWU will choose to finally acknowledge and allay the hate on its campus when the unbiased results of the OCR investigation are released. Ignoring the pernicious problem will not make it go away.
