Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) is outraged and appalled by the recent antisemitic incident at the University of Connecticut (UConn), in which a swastika was found drawn on the wall of the men’s bathroom in the Biology/Physics building. ACF will not stand by as antisemites target our alma mater.

ACF condemns this blatant show of antisemitism at UConn in the strongest possible terms. According to FBI hate crimes statistics, more than half of all hate crimes with a religious bias are directed at Jews. We call on UConn to act swiftly to protect Jewish students and ensure that targeted discrimination of the Jewish community will not be tolerated.

We thank UConn Hillel for their statement and agree that “incidents like this, that target our identities, can make students feel a wide variety of valid emotions.” We ask that our supporters and supporters of the Cal Poly Jewish community reach out to UConn Hillel and show your support.

As ACF continues to be actively engaged in taking action in response to this developing situation, we would like to open a line of support for the students. To help us start a chapter at UConn, please join us here.
