ACF Calls for Strong Leadership in Northwestern Dean Search

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) is calling for strong, principled leadership as Northwestern University begins the search for a new dean of the Northwestern University Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Dean Adrian Randolph will step down at the conclusion of the 2026-2027 academic year after more than a decade leading the university's largest academic division. The university has announced that a search for his successor will begin at a later date.

His departure marks Northwestern’s third major leadership transition in less than a year, following the resignations of President Michael Schill and Provost Kathleen Hagerty.

ACF believes this transition presents the university with another opportunity to chart a new course. During recent years, Jewish and pro-Israel students have faced an environment marked by intimidation, exclusion, and discrimination. As Northwestern searches for its next dean, it must select a leader committed to accountability, institutional leadership, and ensuring that all students can learn in a safe and inclusive environment.
