ACF Commends Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff for Rejecting Biased Anti-Israel Resolution

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) commends Michael Kotlikoff, president of Cornell University, for unequivocally rejecting an anti-Israel resolution recently passed by Cornell’s Student Assembly. The resolution called on the university to terminate its institutional partnership with the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

In his statement, President Kotlikoff made clear that the resolution is inconsistent with Cornell’s core values, including its commitment to academic freedom and open academic collaboration. He also highlighted the resolution’s selective focus on an Israeli academic partnership while ignoring Cornell’s many global affiliations, describing this one-sided approach as reflective of political bias and incompatible with the university’s principles.

President Kotlikoff’s response was a strong affirmation of the importance of maintaining consistent standards and protecting academic partnerships from politicized targeting. Upholding academic freedom requires universities to resist pressure to single out institutions based on political considerations.

ACF applauds President Kotlikoff for his principled leadership and once again reinforcing Cornell’s commitment to inclusivity, fairness, and respect.
