Alums for Campus Fairness Launches Six-Figure Ad Campaign Calling on Northwestern University to Define and Denounce Antisemitism

Digital & TV campaign comes as students/faculty support Hamas terrorism, digital ads to run during Northwestern’s Las Vegas Bowl Game

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) today announced the launch of a six-figure digital and TV ad campaign exposing Northwestern University’s refusal to protect Jewish students. ACF demands the university adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism and hold students and faculty accountable for violations of Northwestern Community Standards. "Too Much to Ask" highlights Northwestern students and faculty intimidating Jews with “resounding support” for Hamas terrorism while university leadership says and does nothing to protect the Jewish community.

"By refusing to define and denounce antisemitism, Northwestern is tacitly endorsing the climate of fear and intimidation for Jews on campus," said Avi D. Gordon, executive director of Alums for Campus Fairness. "Faculty and student groups are openly supporting Hamas terrorism and calling for the genocide of Jews. It’s beyond time for Northwestern President Michael Schill to take decisive action against individuals violating university policy and adopt the internationally accepted definition of antisemitism."

The ad campaign begins with digital ads set to run during Northwestern’s Las Vegas Bowl Game with television in Chicago slated to begin at the beginning of 2024 as students return to campus. Ads running during this weekend’s Las Vegas Bowl will ensure Northwestern students, faculty, alumni, and donors know about the university’s antisemitism problem and learn what can be done to stop it.

The U.S. State Department first adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism during the Obama administration.
