ACF is deeply disappointed that Brown University and President Christina H. Paxson have agreed to vote on divesting the university’s endowment from Israeli companies after historically rejecting such calls.

“Succumbing to the demands of disruptive, defiant, anti-Israel protesters sets a dangerous precedent and endangers the safety and security of Jewish, Israeli, and pro-Israel students during a time of skyrocketing campus antisemitism,” said Naomi Reinharz, ACF-Brown Chapter Leader

ACF-Brown urges the university to take decisive action to ensure a campus environment where all voices are respected and where Jewish, Israeli, and pro-Israel students can engage in discourse without fear of intimidation or discrimination. Brown and President Paxson must do better to fulfill their duty of safeguarding the rights and safety of all students, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
